Tommy Peltier,”Love, Women and Song” (Plastic Echo Records)
Tommy Peltier’s self-described “eclectic mix of Rock, Bop, Pop, Classical and Jazz” has all the charm of seventies free form FM radio. His vocals are a mix of Arlo Guthrie and Ella Fitzgerald melted together and poured into Dizzy Gillespie’s horn only to be spewed out in riffs and random bursts. From the soulful sounds of “What Can I Say” to the disco meets spaghetti western smashup of “Papa”, to the reggae groove of “Tail of the Comet”, Peltier succeeds in keeping the listener wondering what’s coming next.
